Position Summary: St. Anne's-Belfield School is a nurturing and challenging academic community that fosters children's natural curiosity and love of learning. We are seeking an Associate Director of Admission PS-8 that understands the life-changing value that a St. Anne's education can be for children in their formative years, and is passionate about identifying and stewarding prospective families through the admission process.

Reporting to the Assistant Head for Enrollment Management (AHEM), the Associate Director is responsible for developing and implementing strategy and programs to realize annual enrollment goals. The Associate Director must be eager to grow enrollment and recruit new families through new markets, innovative strategies, and outreach. Serving as prospective families' first ambassador to the School, this person will be entrusted with the systematic and efficient handling of students' applications. The Associate Director will work closely with current families and other key stakeholders of the School to assist with outreach and recruitment, while also maximizing retention of current students and engaging in discussions about enrollment of siblings when appropriate. To accomplish these goals, the selected candidate will have the partnership of experienced and adaptive colleagues from within the admission team and across the School.

Position Responsibilities:


  • In collaboration with the Assistant Head for Enrollment Management and divisional colleagues, evaluate the current policies and standards for the admission department. Consider enhancements to the policies that will improve the effectiveness and correlation to the School's mission as stated in the School's strategic plan;
  • Create and implement an enrollment plan that includes an outreach strategy utilizing the School's network and other means to increase applications for select grades;
  • Evaluate and develop the admission outreach program for PS - Grade 8 and facilitate the network of parents, former parents, and alumni to assist in the admission program;
  • Represent and articulate the School's mission and philosophy to prospective families;
  • Communicate with candidates and their parents/guardians; interview candidates and their families;
  • Work closely with the division heads and other key members of the PS, Lower and Middle Schools throughout the admission process for each prospective student;
  • Support the AHEM and Admission Office Manager in preparation of applications and all other data for work with admission committee(s); be prepared to chair a committee in the future;
  • Oversee the testing of prospective students as articulated by the AHEM and division heads; secure necessary student credentials;
  • Manage the Silver Key student ambassador program;
  • Connect each day with the Admission Office Manager about the status of all PS - 8 inquiries, visitors and applicants;
  • Communicate final decisions to families and as appropriate to the senior leadership team;
  • Make data-informed decisions based on relevant admission statistics and trends, and advise colleagues accordingly;
  • Prepare data for use by the AHEM for review by the Head of School, Financial Resources Committee and the Board of Trustees; assist with all data collection and analysis year-round for the admission team;
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with individuals outside the School community who can promote the School, particularly PS - 8;
  • Organize admission gatherings, tours and open houses or other programs;
  • Visit feeder schools and cultivate these relationships;
  • Connect and meet with current PS - 8 parents in understanding their decision to choose St. Anne's-Belfield;
  • Participate in and facilitate student retention efforts including serving on a retention committee and organizing for each meeting, tracking data and following up on all action steps.

Communications & Marketing

  • Work with the Office of Communications to provide updated information relating to admission on the School's website as well as School print and digital collateral;
  • Regularly liaise with the Office of Communications regarding outreach strategy and the role of social media and advertising to complement programs and events, attend their weekly stand up meeting;
  • Develop appropriate giveaway items and keepsakes for PS - 8 visitors and applicants at all stages of the process in consultation with the Communications team.


  • Assist the financial aid committee with award decisions or other data, as appropriate;
  • Attend cross-divisional meetings;
  • Attend divisional faculty meetings;
  • Stay abreast of regulations relating to independent school admission and participate in ongoing professional development activities;
  • Work closely with the Associate Director of Upper School Admission and Outreach (9-12) to provide a seamless transition from Middle School to the Upper School;
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience, admission experience and teaching at the Lower or Middle School level a plus
  • Preferred: Master's degree and more than three years of experience in an admission-related field in an educational environment
